Basic VETT Principles
Venturi-Enhanced Turbine Technology (VETT) is a unique patented technology that uses Bernoulli’s 18th century Venturi principles to draw a primary flow of water through the device creating a pump with no moving parts. VETT's Venturi pump draws a higher velocity secondary flow which drives a conventional axial flow turbine - the only underwater moving part. This allows it to function at an amplified head drop under a higher efficiency.
VETT is essentially the development of a technology that captures the energy from moving water everywhere. VETT generates low-cost electricity, using a no-moving-parts Venturi Pump to amplify the head across a small high-speed, highly efficient turbine. This enables the structure and cost of the VETT to be kept to a minimum, producing low cost renewable electricity potentially competitive with the use of fossil fuels.
